Board Chair
Tony Dupleix
Tony Dupleix brings extensive experience in business management, agriculture, and community leadership to his role with Sunnyside House. A results-driven business manager, Tony has strong expertise in financial planning, operational logistics, customer service, and long-term business sustainability.
Since 1981, Tony has owned and managed EA Dupleix & Co, a 1400-acre mixed grazing enterprise producing prime lamb, wool, hay, and grain. His role includes day-to-day operational oversight, financial management, employment coordination, and environmental stewardship. Since 2010, he has also owned and managed Upright Burials Pty Ltd, overseeing all aspects of business operations including customer service, logistics, maintenance, and financial management.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Honours from La Trobe University and has a long history of community involvement and service. His contributions have been recognised through Life Memberships and honours across several regional organisations, including Southwest Healthcare, Camperdown Theatre Company, Leslie Manor Fire Brigade, and Western Plains Prime Lamb Group.

CEO
Jo Forrest
Jo is an experienced aged care executive and Registered Nurse with more than 30 years’ experience across clinical care, operational leadership, governance, education, and organisational management. As CEO of Sunnyside House, Jo is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care while supporting sustainable and community-focused aged care services.
Throughout her career, Jo has held senior leadership roles including CEO, Director of Nursing, General Manager, Facility Manager, Consultant, and Quality and Systems Manager across metropolitan, regional, and rural aged care organisations throughout Australia.
Her expertise includes clinical governance, regulatory compliance, workforce leadership, strategic planning, quality improvement, and operational management.
Jo is recognised for her collaborative yet strong leadership style, passion for continuous improvement, and ability to build positive workplace culture and high-performing teams. She also brings extensive experience in education and workforce development, having worked as a nursing lecturer and educator alongside her executive leadership roles.

Treasurer
Rob Harris
With a strong background in operations management, business ownership, governance, and financial oversight, Rob brings extensive commercial and leadership experience across transport, petroleum, property management, and events industries.
His career has included senior operational and executive roles with Ingham Enterprises and Mayne Nickless, before becoming a successful Petroleum Franchisee, expanding operations from one site to five between 1992 and 2003. He later served as General Manager of Premier Speedway Warrnambool and subsequently operated Ace Body Corporate franchises in Ballarat and Darwin.
Since 2020, Rob has owned and operated WestVic Strata in partnership with his wife Carolyn, servicing properties across Geelong, the Surf Coast, Bellarine Peninsula, Ballarat, Warrnambool, Port Fairy, and Portland.
Rob has also held governance and industry leadership roles with the Victorian Road Transport Association, the Victorian Chamber of Commerce (VACC), and as Chairman of the Australian Service Station Association. His key strengths include financial analysis, commercial operations, and negotiation.

Director of Nursing
Grace Garner
Grace Garner is a dedicated aged care professional whose career has been driven by a passion for improving the health and wellbeing of people in rural communities and farming families. She completed a Bachelor of Nursing at Federation University in Ballarat before undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing (Gerontology) through Australian Catholic University.
Grace began her nursing career through a graduate program with Beaufort and Skipton Health Service, gaining broad experience across acute care, transitional care, emergency nursing, and residential aged care. She later worked as a Registered Nurse with Ballarat Health Services while continuing to build her expertise in gerontological care.
Joining Sunnyside House as Care Manager, Grace quickly became recognised for her leadership, compassion, and commitment to high-quality resident care. In 2025, her professional growth and dedication saw her appointed Director of Nursing, where she continues to lead clinical services and support positive outcomes for residents, families, and staff.

Deputy Chair/Clinical Governance
Michelle Malycha
Michelle Malycha is an experienced aged care executive, Registered Nurse, and governance professional with extensive leadership experience across residential aged care, clinical governance, compliance, and operational management. She has held senior leadership roles including General Manager, Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, and Aged Care Compliance Consultant across public, private, and not-for-profit healthcare organisations.Michelle is recognised for successfully leading services through complex compliance and operational challenges, including accreditation recovery, workforce development, quality improvement, and implementation of strong clinical governance systems. Her expertise includes aged care reform, risk management, infection prevention and control, operational sustainability, and organisational culture improvement. She holds a Master of Healthcare Leadership and is committed to continuous improvement, person-centred care, and strengthening governance outcomes within the aged care sector. Michelle is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and currently serves as a member of the Clinical Governance Sub-Committee.

Board member/Clinical Governance
Sarah Venn
Sarah Venn brings both clinical expertise and a strong local connection to her role on the Sunnyside House Board. Raised on a dairy farm in Glenormiston, Sarah has a deep appreciation for rural community values and the importance of accessible local healthcare. She completed her secondary education at Mercy Regional College in Camperdown before studying Pharmacy at La Trobe University in Bendigo.
Sarah is an owner of Camperdown Pharmacy and an experienced onsite aged care pharmacist, with extensive knowledge of medication management within residential aged care settings. Through her work, she has developed strong insight into medication safety, clinical systems, and the collaborative approach required to support high-quality resident care.
Passionate about supporting older members of the community, Sarah values the continuity of care between the pharmacy and Sunnyside House. She finds it especially rewarding to continue caring for familiar community members as they transition into aged care and remains committed to supporting quality care outcomes for residents.

Board Member
John Maher
John brings extensive executive leadership and governance experience across the health, government, business, and tourism sectors. His career has included senior executive roles with Australia Post, including Past National General Manager – Couriers and Outsourcing, as well as Board experience with Decipha, a joint venture delivering outsourcing solutions to corporate customers.
He currently serves as a Board member and Deputy Chairman of Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism and has previously held the role of Chairman of Shipwreck Coast Tourism.
Within the health sector, John has served as Board member and Chairman of South West Healthcare, Chairman of the Deakin University IMMERSE Advisory Board, and Board Director of the Victorian Department of Health’s Boards Ministerial Advisory Committee (BMAC). He also contributed to the statewide Targeting Zero initiative overseeing major health governance reforms and has acted as Ministerial Delegate to HESSE Rural Health on behalf of the Victorian Government.

Finance Manager
Don Skene
Born and raised in Camperdown, Don completed his secondary schooling at Camperdown High School in 1970 before graduating from La Trobe University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Economics majoring in Accounting. In 1993, he furthered his studies with a Graduate Certificate in Applied Science from Melbourne University.
Don enjoyed a career spanning more than 35 years in the dairy industry, working across accounting, finance management, sales and marketing administration, logistics, and sales and operations planning. After retiring in 2019, he joined Sunnyside House in 2023 following what he describes as “a not too successful retirement.”
Deeply involved in the local community, Don has served on the Camperdown College School Council, the Leura Oval Committee of Management, and the Board of Cooinda, including terms as Chairperson. A life member of both Camperdown Cricket Club and Burwood Uniting Cricket Club, he also enjoys social golf and part-time farming. Married to Therese for 39 years, Don has four children, six grandchildren, and longstanding family ties to Sunnyside House.
